(Carlablackiae × RVDP) × BVEP “Sun”
This pairing brings a Carlablackiae × RVDP hybrid together with BVEP “Sun.” The parents were ethically sourced and the cross was produced in-house by JiggyPlantGuy.
“Sun” is a BVEP selection I value for the warm, luminous quality that can show through its sinus, venation and emergent growth. It gives this pairing a very different direction from the darker velvet side of the cross.
I made this one for the intersection of discipline and glow. The Carlablackiae × RVDP side gives me darker velvet genetics and structure to work from. “Sun” gives me warmth and contrast. I’m interested in offspring that can carry both without looking confused.
Those are the directions I’m watching, not guaranteed outcomes. Siblings can absolutely split the genetics different ways.
This is the type of cross I prefer to judge slowly. The color can get your attention early, but I care just as much about what the plant looks like once the leaf is fully hardened and the next one starts coming. Grow it slow. Let the layers reveal themselves.
