(BVEP × Portillae “Dorito”) × (Carlablackiae “Round” × Besseae “Spider”)
“Dorito” is an Albert’s clone that came through Scott Cohen. I kept the original designation attached because that source history matters to the cross.
This parent was bred by Granthuriums. The Round and Spider designations are preserved as received.
I wanted to combine the broad, dark direction I liked in Dorito with the movement and proportions coming through Round × Spider. Several juveniles are already showing a wider dagger-like direction, which is one of the reasons I kept watching this batch.
Projected traits are possibilities, not promises. Each seedling is genetically unique.
The structure is what has my attention here. The juveniles are still changing quickly, so I’m more interested in which plants keep that width and posture as they size up than in calling the finished phenotype early.
