About This Cross

This hybrid brings together three elite velvet bloodlines rarely stacked in a single plant.

The seed parent combines Tezula’s RC Premium Red Crystallinum with KOS (King of Spades) — a pairing that already balances intense color, refined velvet texture, and compact, sculpted form.

Layered onto that is Anthurium carlablackiae, a species revered for its near-black velvet foliage, high-contrast veins, and collector-grade presence.

This cross was hand-pollinated by Jiggy Plant Guy in 2025 and produced in extremely limited numbers. It is not a repeat line.

Tezula RC “Premium” (Red Crystallinum)
A highly selected Tezula line known for deep red-to-purple emergents, bullate velvet texture, and refined venation. RC Premium plants hold color longer than standard crystallinum and mature with a dense, luxurious surface.

KOS (King of Spades)
A legendary hybrid from Indonesian breeder Haji Ulih. Recognized for perfectly round, spade-shaped leaves, overlapping lobes, and minimalist venation. KOS adds compact growth, symmetry, and unique silhouette.

Anthurium carlablackiae
A coveted velvet species prized for thick, nearly black leaves and vivid white to pink venation. Carlablackiae contributes depth, contrast, and a more compact, manageable growth habit while raising the visual ceiling.
