(Red Velvet Cake × Dark & Handsome) × RL Self (Red Vein)
This side comes through Doc Block breeding and was kept in the pairing for its velvet surface, elongated form and darker tonal range.
The Ralph Lynam self used here was selected around the red vein expression that carries through the emergent and early hardening stage.
I made this one to see whether the darker Doc Block side could hold its mood while the RL self sharpened the venation and structure. I don’t need every seedling to be red-veined. I’m watching for the ones where the whole plant works together.
Those are traits I’m watching for, not promised outcomes. Seedlings will vary.
Color gets the first look, but I’m not letting it make the whole decision. The keepers in this batch should still have the structure, substance and mature presence to back the color up once the leaf settles.
